BPP Law School will be holding a conference specifically for careers advisors working in higher education. Along with information dealing with current legal training issues and up-to-date news about BPP Law School, attendees will also have the opportunity to brush up on their legal training knowledge by attending a range of training workshops.

The conference has been designed to be relevant to a range of careers advisors - from those who specialise in law, to those who provide general careers advice. The day will also cater for experienced careers advisors along with those who are new to careers advice and would like the opportunity to learn more about key areas of law advice.

Option 1
This session will focus on the advantages of Pro Bono work in assisting students secure work after leaving university and law school. The content will focus on the different types of Pro Bono work students can get involved in and how projects can be structured to ensure maximum benefit for students from that involvement.
Option 2

This session will provide an overview of the training contract application process, feedback from law firms, common mistakes students make and advice on how best to prepare students to succeed

Option 3
This session will cover the key attributes required of Bar students, feedback from Chambers and advice on what university students should be doing to increase their likelihood of success
Option 4
How to deal effectively with the specific concerns of International Students, typical case studies, feedback from Law Firms and a general discussion around issues facing international students wanting to qualify as a lawyer in the UK
Option 5
This session explains the costs involved in training to be a solicitor or barrister and the funding options available to students. Tips will also be given on how to advise students on the types of funding most suitable for their situation and requirements

 

Note: All seminar sessions run from 1:30pm - 2:00pm and are repeated at 2:00pm - 2:30pm. You can choose to attend two of the five options.

Copies of all the seminar materials will be available to all conference attendees.

This conference is free to attend and we will provide lunch to all attendees.
