The OUP and BPP National Mooting Competition 2007-2008:final
Oxford University Press and BPP Law School are delighted to announce that the final of the OUP and BPP National Mooting Competition 2007-2008 will take place at BPP Holborn on the evening of Monday 30 June 2008.
Following 8 months of intense competition the final four teams, out of a record breaking starting line-up of 61, are:
City University, the University of Reading, Birmingham City University, and the University of Cambridge.
This is City University’s third appearance in the final in four years; will it be third time lucky for them? Or will it be newcomers to the final round, University of Cambridge who walk away with the winning title?
Oxford University Press and BPP are very pleased to welcome returning judge His Honour Judge Gratwicke of Chelmsford Crown Court. HHJ Gratwicke presided over the final in 2006-2007. HHJ Gratwicke has had a brush with minor celebrity in his time as Crown Circuit Judge - he presided over a case involving Jade Goody's on-off boyfriend Jack Tweed in January 2008 who appeared in court to deny a golf club attack on a teenager.
In addition to the substantial total prize money of £2,200 that is on offer, these teams are fighting it out for the chance to get involved with BPP’s exciting pro bono programme.
