How is the programme taught?

Courtroom

The BPTC is taught by experienced practitioners using a combination of small group sessions, practical exercises and lectures with particular emphasis on advocacy.
Our award-winning Pro Bono Centre allows you to put your legal knowledge and skills into practice in a way that benefits members of the community.

Mooting

Our annual mooting competitions (the final of which is judged by a member of the judiciary) gives you the opportunity to practise your advocacy skills in a competitive environment. In 2006, our competitions were judged by Court of Appeal Judges – Lord Justice Ward and Lord Justice Moses in London and by his Honour Judge Peter Benson and District Judge Margaret Glentworth in Leeds.
