Admissions requirements for the BVC
To apply for the BVC you must meet the following minimum admissions requirements:
- qualifying law degree (minimum lower second class honours), or
- qualifying non-law degree (minimum lower second class honours) and a GDL or CPE
If English is not your first language you must have a score of 7.5 in all parts of the IELTS test.
Priority is given to applicants who have placed BPP as their first choice.

Applications for both the full and part-time BVC must be made via the Bar Standards Board ’s central online applications system at www.bvconline.co.uk.
The first round for full and part-time BVC programmes commencing September 2009 is closed. If you applied in the first round and you have not received an offer yet, we regret to inform you that your application has been unsuccessful.
The clearance pool opens at 2pm on the 3rd April 2009 and closes at 2pm on the 15th July 2009.
The full-time BVC in Leeds and London is now full. However we do have limited places available on the part-time BVC commencing 2009 in Leeds and London. Please apply before the 15th July 2009.
Please note that places at BPP fill up quickly so you are advised to apply as early as possible.
Joining an Inn of Court
You must join an Inn of Court before you start the BVC. In order to take advantage of the facilities the Inns provide, you may wish to join one as soon as possible.
