Distance learning GDL term dates commencing September 2009

The induction for the year 1 distance learning GDL is from Sunday 27th - Wednesday 30th September 2009 at BPP Law School in London (Waterloo).

After the induction you will be required to attend eight days of classes at BPP Law School in London (Waterloo), either in two 4-day blocks or over four weekends. You make this choice at the beginning of the academic year. The dates of each option are:

4-day blocks:

1st block 13th - 16th February 2010
2nd block 27th - 30th March 2010

Four weekends:

Weekend 1 14th - 15th November 2009
Weekend 2 16th - 17th January 2010
Weekend 3 27th - 28th January 2010
Weekend 4 27th - 28th March 2010

Online classes

While attendance at tutorials is required, you will be able to choose to attend in person at law school or online in a virtual classroom. Further information will be available at registration.


Please note, we strongly advise you not to book any holidays during term time. Assessments and revision can also take place outside term times. If you want to book holidays prior to your programme commencing for any time during the academic year, please speak to the student records department who will be happy to advise you.

From 2010, you will be able to commence the full-time and part-time GDL in January* or September. The length of the programmes are the same, but if you would like to attend live lectures you will need to start in September. All lectures are also available on DVD and as MP4 and MP3 files for you to review in your own time.
