Admission requirements for the LLM (Professional Legal Practice):

Any student from the full-time LPC or BVC cohorts 2006/07 onwards or part-time cohorts 2006/08 onwards who has passed the LPC or BVC can undertake the LLM (Professional Legal Practice).

If you are currently studying the LPC or BVC or intend to do the LPC or BPTC at BPP Law School and would like to continue onto the LLM (Professional Legal Practice) you must:

  • be a current full-time or part-time year 2 student; and
  • you must have completed studying the compulsory stage of your programme; and
  • you must have passed all your assessments for which results are available

You can book your place on and start the programme before you have your exam results, but completion of the masters degree will be conditional on you passing your assessments.

For details on how to book your place, please scroll down the page.

What happens if I subsequently fail a LPC or BPTC/BVC assessment?
If you fail one or more LPC or BPTC/BVC assessment you cannot continue studying the LLM (Professional Legal Practice). You have a choice of either:

  • requesting a suspension of your LLM (Professional Legal Practice) studies until you have passed the LPC or BPTC/BVC; or
  • withdrawing from the LLM (Professional Legal Practice) and having your LLM (Professional Legal Practice) fees returned in full

If you withdraw you will be required to re-complete the Preparation and Planning module if you re-register after passing the LPC or BPTC/BVC.

I have outstanding re-assessments. What can I do?
You may conditionally enroll for the programme and take the Preparation and Planning module. However, you normally cannot submit your proposals or start work on the practice-based project/s. Once you have taken your re-sits and are waiting for your results you may submit your proposal/s for your practice-based project/s.

If you wish to do one of the LLM modules you may be able to start the subject with prior agreement from the module leader.

If you meet the admission criteria above, your place is guaranteed on the LLM (Professional Legal Practice).
